Nestled in the Northeastern corner of Oklahoma, Tulsa has been drawing the attention of younger families looking for a place to call home. We absolutely love Tulsa. In order to share what we love about Tulsa in this series, in this piece, we’re going to talk about an aspect of Tulsa that we feel sets the city apart from many of similar size and population — Tulsa’s many parks.

A Place To Connect With Nature…In The City

Living in the city can be handy for commuters and those looking for urban culture, but there is also a need to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. For this reason, Tulsa has equipped its citizens with many wonderful parks and outdoor spaces.

Putting Tulsa On The Map: The Gathering Place

A project on behalf of the George Kaiser Family Foundation, the Gathering Place won a nation-wide 2019 poll conducted by USA Today as the top new attraction. The Gathering Place is more than a park — it’s an entire experience. The park boasts of the most funding of any privately-funded park — $400 million. Running along the Arkansas River, the Gathering Place has something for just about everyone. From a full BMX pump track and skatepark to basketball courts, to a gigantic adventure playground for every age level, a boathouse for kayaking, and a full dining area, if you can imagine a park having something, the Gathering Place does. Step into a whole other world by visiting the Gathering Place.

Dotting the Tulsa map is an assortment of city parks the entire family can enjoy.
